Hey everyone!

Between the downtown move, speaking in New York at PhotoExpo for Pictage, having a blast speaking to a bunch of mother's of preschoolers in Long Beach, getting inspired by these heroes of the photo world to start SimplePhotoLife.com and SimplePhotoForum.com ... not to mention finishing off a crazy wedding season, I've been a bit swamped.

I felt inspired this morning though to throw together a little collage of some fun moments from this last season. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did shooting. What a fun year!

I mentioned a while back that my man Justin Zoradi (JZ) was going to relocate to Northern Ireland. Well, he's there now and is tearin' it up. It's his inspiring trek to change the world for good that compelled me to nominate him as my most recent "Featured Friend" ... check him out!

I'm so sorry I've been out of the loop recently. Between shooting and working out some cool new moves for DSP (more to come on that later :-)), we are finally able to announce our move downtown!

We're in the process of building out our space in the upstairs loft of Bogart's in beautiful La Arcada, just a block off State St. in Santa Barbara. We are so excited.

This particular moment was SO fun ... as Sylvia's sister was bussling her gorgeous dress, the sunlight diffused beautifully right through it. I was just lucky to be there to catch the magic.

Everything was perfect. Despite predictions that Janee's girls might have a hard time holding back the tears, no one had really lost it yet. We were maybe 20 minutes before the ceremony began and for some reason only a few of us noticed the door. As we listened to Janee share how she was so grateful that she hadn't cried yet and that she thought she was going to make it through the day sans crying, everyone gasped as if to say "Good luck with that Janee".

There were Mom and Dad ... standing ... watching ... remembering ... gazing at their sweet little girl.

As a father of girls, I suspected the time for tears was about to present itself :-) ...

OK, I'll stop ... maybe. Despite the fact that I think we must now hold the world wedding record for multiple chimps in a shot, this multi-photographer vanity shot is really becoming a signature ... haha!

This time David Jay decided to invite a foursome out for some fun. Props to Nathan Holritz for making it all the way from Tennessee and for eager beaver Tim Halberg for shooting us chimping more than the wedding ;-). Good times you guys!

So I'm shooting this fantastic wedding a week or so ago (more on that soon :-) ...) and my friends Amy Nave and Mike Colon join me for the day. What a blast! Each of us handle this sort of shoot on our own all the time. But to get to do it together ... it was ALL-TIME! Let's just say we had full coverage.

So, like I said, we were having a great day, shooting away and showing off our stuff to each other (aka, chimping). Well, Mike sends me this picture he got of the three of us checking things out. Too freaking funny!

These two pros are unbelievable to spend time with. They are amazing people first of all and top shelf photographers. For those of you who don't know, Mike Colon may be the biggest thing in wedding photography ... period. To have the privilege of shooting along side them both ... it was too good :-).

I'll post some of the real images up in the next couple days and you can decide for yourself what you think.

Cheers to my homies. Thanks for an amazing time. And, thanks for working me with that chimp shot Mike! Can we do this every weekend?

I'm heading back to the Newport and Laguna area this weekend for a couple weddings. I'll be stoked to share what we come up with. Both couples are just fantastic. I also have a couple of surprises up my sleave for them and for you guys when I get back. More on that later :-) ...

Anyway, before I took off, I wanted to post some stuff from this past weekend. We celebrated Fiesta with a visit from Danielle and Phil from Orange County. I'm shooting their wedding this November and I can't wait. These two totally cracked me up. We had such a blast. It turned into quite the night!

I've received a lot of questions lately about the mobile office in my SUV. I thought a picture would help explain a bit of how it looks.

I had a chance to use it at my last few weddings and it's been a huge success. It's so nice to have a controlled air conditioned editing bay that doesn't get in the way of my client's great day but still allows me the chance to create some things for them that they can enjoy immediately.

It's odd. Sometimes you see a little flower girl and you sigh and look away. Morgan and I, on the other hand, just plain bonded. Not only was she just a cutie, but she was a cutie with a heart. After hearing that my own daughter was her age, she made it a point to find me at the reception and gave me a little present to give to her. So sweet!

I created this little collage yesterday for my clients and figured I could probably benefit from running it by a few colleagues before I went live with it. So, I asked for some advice from some friends at OSP and Pictage.

Less than 24 hours later almost 50 busy pro photographers have responded online, almost 500 have checked it out and tons more have sent personal emails.

I love you guys! You all are what working in this business is about!! Dinner's on me next time we get together :-) - Count on it! Thanks everyone! I am blown away.

I shot a wedding a few weeks ago in Palm Springs. It was the same location that Joe Buissink shot Christina Applegate's wedding. Needless to say, it was an amazing location.

What was better than the spot though was the couple. Chrissy's dress reflected the whole day for she and Boe. It was just perfect.

After some gentle prodding and pushing from friends, I finally bit the bullet and started my blog. The reason I've hesitated for so long is I didn't want to create one just to take up space. There are so many great blogs and forums out there, I didn't want to distract my friends away from them. But, I did want to create something that could help us stay connected and keep you in the loop on all the cool stuff that's happening. Life is blazing right now! Thanks for joining in :-)!!
